Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, September 24

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, September 24, 2020:

A subtle impulse in the atmosphere will move through today, interrupting our string of sun-filled days.

A deck of thin clouds moved in overnight and will linger for most of the day. They will still allow some sun to shine through, though.

These clouds will be joined by some cumulus clouds this afternoon. One or two could produce a shower, but any rain that falls will be short lived.

Skies should become clearer late in the afternoon and into the evening.

Winds will be light today, starting from the southwest, then turning west at around 5 mph. By the late afternoon, the wind will be nearly calm from variable directions.

High temperatures should push into the low 70s today despite the clouds. Evening temperatures will drop through the 60s and into the 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Friday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
