Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, September 28, 2020:

The first signs of a changing weather pattern will start to show up today.

The most noticeable difference from the last several days will be an increase in cloud cover today. Periods of sunshine are still likely, but there will be plenty of clouds to mix in.

As some energy moves north along the East Coast, there will even be a small chance for a few pop-up afternoon showers. Most areas will probably not see rain though. Those that do will only see brief, light showers.

Winds will continue to blow from the south around 10 mph. Top gusts will be a touch lower than over the weekend, reaching around 25 mph.

The south winds will keep temperatures mild with highs reaching the mid 70s. Temperatures tonight will stay in the 60s.

Clouds will increase overnight and a few more showers will be possible especially as we draw closer to dawn.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with periods of rain, especially in the afternoon and evening. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Morning highs in the upper 60s, then afternoon temperatures in the upper 50s.

Wednesday: A few showers early, then some sun. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Thursday: Sun, clouds, and a few showers. Breezy. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs near 60.

Friday: More clouds than sun with scattered showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
