Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, November 1, 2020:

A strong cold front will move through the region today, kicking November off with an active start.

Clouds will thicken this morning ahead of the front with limited sunshine. The morning should stay rain free, though it will be quite windy.

The wind will be from the south at 15-20 mph. Peak gusts during the morning and early afternoon will be 40-45 mph.

The wind will push temperatures into the upper 40s to near 50 degrees by the early afternoon.

Showers will move in shortly thereafter. The front will arrive by mid-afternoon, possibly with a windy burst of rain. Additional showers are possible behind the front as well.

Once the front moves through, winds will turn to the west with speeds around 10 mph. Gusts will drop to the 25-30 mph range.

Cold air will rapidly move in, with temperatures near 40 around 5 PM and into the 30s thereafter.

A few evening flurries will be possible with a better chance for snow showers after midnight and into Monday. Winds will pick up after midnight as well with gusts back to or above 40 mph before the sun rises.

Monday: Windy and cloudy with snow showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Tuesday: Flurries early, then maybe some afternoon sun. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Wednesday: Sunny and much warmer. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday: Sunshine filtered through thin clouds. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.
