A small disturbance is passing through the region this morning. Scattered snow showers associated with the disturbance moved in overnight and will continue into the afternoon.

Overtime, the precipitation will transition to lake effect snow showers. While the most persistent bands will be north of Cortland County, on and off flurries will continue into the evening.

All in all, little if any snow accumulation is expected, though a few isolated areas could manage an inch or so if several heavier snow showers move through.

Winds will be from the northwest at 10-15 mph. Top gusts during the day will be 30-35 mph.

Temperatures will be seasonable despite the northwest winds. Look for highs in the low and mid 30s. Nighttime temperatures will fall back into the upper 20s this evening with mid 20s overnight.

Wednesday: Morning sunshine with thickening clouds in the afternoon. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Thursday: Windy with rain likely, especially in the afternoon and evening. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon and evening highs around 50.

Friday: Early snow with icy roads. A few flurries for the rest of the day. Morning temperatures in the low 30s. Afternoon temperatures in the low 20s.

Saturday: Scattered snow showers. Morning lows in the mid single digits. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.
