Cool northwest winds behind yesterday’s weather system will keep snow showers in the forecast today.

The snow early this morning will still be directly associated with the weather system, but will pull out by mid-morning. In its wake, some light lake effect will linger.

The snow should gradually weaken as the day goes on, but flurries may continue right through the afternoon and into the evening. New snow accumulations today should be around or less than an inch.

The northwest winds will blow at 10-15 mph with gusts around 25 mph.

Temperatures will be steady today, sticking around or just above 25 degrees. Once the sun sets, a drop into the upper teens is likely.

After midnight, a subtle cold front will move through with a few more snow showers. Temperatures behind the front will drop to the mid teens by dawn Thursday.

Friday: Lake effect snow showers. Temperatures around 5 degrees throughout the day.

Saturday: Lake effect snow showers. Morning lows near 0. Afternoon highs near 10.

Sunday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows of -10 to -15. Afternoon highs near 20.
