Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, February 28, 2021:

A disorganized weather system will move through the region today with plenty of clouds and a few rain showers.

The best chance for rain will come during the afternoon and evening, but a few late morning showers will also be possible. The rain will be scattered and light, with plenty of dry time throughout the day.

Southeast winds will blow at 5-10 mph this morning. Afternoon winds will turn a bit more southerly and increase to 10-15 mph. This evening, winds will turn to the southwest and slowly drop back to the 5-10 mph range.

Top gusts in the afternoon will be 25-30 mph. A few hilltops could gust over 30 mph.

Despite the south winds, the clouds and occasional showers will keep temperatures a bit lower than yesterday. Look for highs just above 40 degrees.

Temperatures will hold in the upper 30s tonight, but as colder air aloft starts to move in, some of the rain showers after midnight could turn to some snow.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs near 40s.
