Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, April 2

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, April 2, 2021:

High pressure will build into the Great Lakes today, increasing our sunshine but keeping temperatures chilly.

Some lingering clouds will be possible through the mid-morning hours before the sunshine begins to take over. By the afternoon, skies will be sunny and clear.

With the center of the high to our west-southwest, winds will continue to blow out of the northwest. Wind speeds will again be at 10-15 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

The wind will keep temperatures at bay despite the sunshine. Look for afternoon highs to struggle to get much beyond 30 degrees.

Clear skies tonight will allow temperatures to slip back into the low 20s, but winds will gradually turn to the west, then southwest. As our supply of cold air gets cut off, temperatures will remain steady overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Sunny with a few late clouds. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: Sunny with a few afternoon fair weather clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Monday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Tuesday: Early sunshine. Maybe some late rain. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.
