Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, April 11

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, April 11, 2021:

Low pressure will spin into the Great Lakes today, bringing some rain to the area.

Steady, widespread rain will move in from the southwest during the first part of this morning. Several hours of rain are likely, and it may even continue raining into the early afternoon.

After that, the rain should dissipate as it works off to the northeast. A few more stray showers will be possible, but it will not be a washout like the morning. A few breaks of sun may even be possible.

In all, by evening, some areas may see over a half-inch of rainfall.

While our afternoon is quieter, a new area of rain and thunderstorm will pop up over Pennsylvania. These will weaken to showers as the sun sets, but they will likewise move to the northeast and into our area for the evening hours.

High temperatures will partially depend on how quickly and completely the morning rain moves out and whether or not any sunshine appears.

In a cool scenario, highs may get stuck just short of 60. More likely will be higher in the low to mid 60s. Upper 60s would be possible if enough sun breaks through.

Nighttime temperatures will drop through the 50s this evening and into the 40s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Monday: Cloudy with showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs near 50.

Tuesday: Periods of rain showers. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy. A few scattered showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs near 60.
