Cortland Weather Outlook: Tuesday, April 13

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, April 13, 2021:

The low pressure system that has brought rain to the area the last two days will gradually lose its influence on our region today.

The parent low will actually split in two, with one piece heading out to the Atlantic while the other part retreats northwest toward the Upper Great Lakes.

In between, Cortland County will dry out with little to no rain expected today. If there are any showers, they are most likely very early this morning and again late in the afternoon.

Clouds will remain persistent through the morning, but a few breaks of afternoon sun are possible. Skies will gradually become partly cloudy overnight.

Winds will be nearly calm today, with variable directions for what little breeze there is.

High temperatures will rebound a bit, climbing to a high around or just above 60 degrees. Evening temperatures will stick close to 50, but as the clouds break up overnight, temperatures will slip to near 40 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Wednesday: Early sun, afternoon fair weather clouds. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Thursday: Periods of rain, possibly turning to snow late. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Friday: Showers, possibly with some wet snow mixing in early. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
