Cortland Weather Outlook: Sunday, June 13

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, June 13, 2021:

A cold front will move into the region today, triggering scattered showers and storms this afternoon.

The morning hours should stay dry with a mix of sun and clouds. By the afternoon, showers and a few thunderstorms will start to pop up. The best chance for storms will be during the mid to perhaps late afternoon hours.

There is a small chance for storms to briefly become severe for localized areas. Damaging winds are the primary threat, along with heavy rain. A little small hail cannot be ruled out, either.

Most areas will not see severe weather though, and a few may not even see rain.

High temperatures will make it into the mid and perhaps upper 70s this afternoon but will drop to the low 70s behind any storms.

Winds outside of any thunderstorms will be light with speeds near or under 5 mph. Winds will generally be from the south and southwest, though they may turn to the west for a time after the storms.

Temperatures will be slow to drop this evening and should stay in the 60s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Monday: A few scattered showers or storms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
