Another nice day is ahead for Cortland County with a small area of high pressure the dominate feature in our region.

Sky conditions will follow a typical mid to late summer pattern. Patchy morning fog will burn off early, leaving mostly sunny skies. Puffy fair weather clouds will bubble up during the latter have of the morning and into the afternoon. Then, late in the day, those clouds will dissipate, and skies will end mostly clear.

The chances for precipitation today are very low, but a stray afternoon shower cannot be totally ruled out. Any areas that manage to see rain will only see it for a very brief time.

Winds will be from the northwest at 5-10 mph. Top gusts will be around 20 mph, and winds will be nearly calm tonight.

Temperatures will reach a high around 80 degrees, which is very close to the daily average high. Dewpoints will be comfortable in the upper 50s to low 60s.

Tonight, temperatures will drop back into the low 60s with clear skies persisting through the night.
