Cortland Weather Outlook: Friday, August 6

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, August 6, 2021:

Today’s weather will be very similar to the rest of the week, only with warmer temperatures.

South winds on the backside of high pressure now over the Atlantic Ocean will allow temperatures to make more of a jump forward today.

These winds will only be around 5 mph with gusts of 15-20 mph.

Sunny skies will mix with fair weather clouds throughout the day, helping the atmosphere to take advantage of the incoming warmer air.

Afternoon highs will top out in the low to maybe even mid 80s as a result.

There will once again be a very low chance for a stray, brief shower. Most areas should remain dry throughout the day.

Skies will clear tonight and temperatures will drop, though not as fast and as far as other days this week. Overnight lows should stick in the low to mid 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Maybe a stray afternoon shower. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with a few afternoon showers possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Monday: Sunny, warm, and muggy. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: Hot and humid. A mix of sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs near 90.
