The 21st annual Brockway Truck Show weekend is slated for this Thursday through Sunday in Cortland County.

The annual event that highlights antique Brockway Trucks returns after it was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s a great event that has gone on for a long time,” said Shirley Randolph, treasurer of the Brockway Truck Preservation Association. “Lots and lots of people look forward to it every year.”

Randolph anticipates the weekend will include about 100 Brockway Trucks, mainly from the East Coast, and some from states down south.

The first big part of the weekend kicks off with the yearly “Huskie Drive” on Friday. It entails the Brockway Trucks taking a drive from the CNY Living History Center on Rt. 11 in Cortlandville, to Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Virgil.

Following truck games and lunch at Greek Peak, the trucks will head to Shipwreck Amusements in Cortlandville before driving back to the Living History Center, Randolph said.

On Saturday, the Brockway Truck parade will commence at 8:30 a.m. at the Living History Center and head to Main Street in the city of Cortland.

The parade will lead into the National Brockway Truck Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with trucks lined up from beginning to end on Main Street, Randolph said. After the show, an award will be presented to the best truck, along with the trucker’s choice and people’s choice awards.

The weekend caps with the sixth annual Antique Club of America South Central New York Chapter All-Make Truck Show at the Living History Center. The show begins at 8 a.m.

The event organizers are following the state’s current COVID-19 guidelines. Masks are required outside if attendees are unvaccinated. Masks must be worn at all times for the weekend’s indoor activities and meals.
