Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Tuesday’s events:
Varsity Girls Soccer: Homer vs. CBA
The Homer Lady Trojans took down CBA (Christian Brothers Academy) with a score of 4-0 to improve to an overall record of 4-4.
Homer’s offense was led by Gracie Patriarco (3 goals & 1 assist) and Sarah Sovocool (1 goal & 2 assists).
Homer goalkeeper Catherine Apker made 8 saves in the game.
The Trojans will look forward to hosting Chittenango on Thursday (September 23rd) at 7pm.
Varsity Girls Soccer: Cortland vs. Jamesville-Dewitt
The Cortland Lady Tigers lost a tough game against Jamesville-Dewitt with a score of 0-3. Cortland is now 2-3 on the season.
Jamesville-Dewitt’s goals were scored by Lindsey Hildreth, Brooke Bort, and Caroline Stone.
Cortland goalkeeper Lauren Mott made a total of 18 saves in the game.
Cortland will host Hannibal on Saturday (September 25th) at 9:30am.
Varsity Boys Soccer: Marathon vs. Groton
The Marathon Olympians improved to a 5-1-1 record after defeating Groton.
Both of Marathon’s goals were scored by Kaiden Cornell. His second half goal was assisted by Braeden Morrison.
Marathon’s defense was another game highlight, as they held Groton to 1 shot in the entire game.
The Olympians will host Moravia on Thursday (September 23rd) at 5:15pm.
Varsity Boys Soccer: Cortland vs. Jamesville-Dewitt
The Cortland varsity boys soccer team lost 0-5 against Jamesville-Dewitt, bringing them down to a 4-3 record.
Scott Hourigan made 14 saves, while Paul Hansen made 3 saves at goal for Cortland.
Jamesville-Dewitt’s goals were scored by Aiden Scottm, Ntumba Mwepo, Sam Bobrek. Cortland scored 2 own goals.
Cortland will try to put this game behind them as they take on Central Square on Thursday (September 23rd) at 7pm on the road.
Varsity Boys Golf: Homer vs. Skaneateles
The Homer Trojans beat Skaneateles with a score of 221-223 .(Reminder: Lowest score in golf wins). The Trojans are now 7-2 overall.

Varsity Field Hockey: Homer vs. Canastota
The Homer field hockey team lost a tough game against Canastota with a score of 0-8 on Tuesday. Homer is now 3-5 overall.
Canastota’s goals were scored by Chance Jaquin (3 goals), Mia DiVeronica (2 goals), Chloe Curtis (2 goals), and Kory Matteson (1 goal).
Homer goalie Emily Daniels made a total of 24 saves in the game.
Homer will look to get back on track as they take on Cato-Meridian on the road at 4:30pm on Wednesday (September 22nd).
