Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, October 13

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, October 13, 2021:

A weak front will slide through the area today, bringing a return to cloudy skies.

Accompanying the clouds will be a few showers here and there. None of the rain should be heavy or long lasting, and many places will probably get through the day with little to no precipitation.

The morning has a slightly higher chance for rain than the afternoon, and by the mid-afternoon, the chances will trend toward zero. A little sun may even come out late in the day before dark falls.

Winds will be from the south through the morning, but as the front moves through, a shift to the west, then northwest will take place in the afternoon. Wind speeds will be near or just over 5 mph with top gusts under 20 mph.

Temperatures will only be a couple degrees cooler today despite the decrease in sunshine. Look for afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Skies will remain partly cloudy this evening, with mostly thin clouds passing through. After midnight, thicker low clouds and fog may develop, but no rain is expected.

Nighttime temperatures will take a slow and steady drop through the 50s.
