Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, January 24

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, January 24, 2022:

A weak warm front will make its way toward our region late today.

The morning hours will have a mix of sun and clouds. A stray flurry cannot be ruled out, but most areas should stay dry.

This afternoon, the clouds will gradually thicken as the front approaches. Skies should become overcast but no precipitation is expected prior to sunset.

Light snow will move in this evening though as the warm front approaches. Snow will be on and off through the overnight with an inch or two of accumulation likely.

After another cold night last night, winds will turn to the south this morning with speeds around 5 mph. That will help temperatures moderate despite the thickening clouds. Look for afternoon highs to reach the upper teens to near 20 degrees.

Temperatures will dip back to the mid teens this evening but will quickly reverse course and begin to rise. By Tuesday morning, temperatures should be into the low if not mid 20s.

The wind will only increase slightly tonight with speeds just over 5 mph. Gusts should stay under 20 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:
