Cortland Transit Bus Passes Available at Additional County Locations (Press Release)

Cortland County and Cortland Transit through our Monthly Bus Pass Partnership Program has partnered with Access to Independence (ATI), Catholic Charities and SUNY Cortland to expand the access to purchase Cortland Transit’s monthly bus passes.

Starting February 1, 2022, these three additional locations will start selling monthly bus passes to the public. “I am excited to offer more locations to purchase Cortland Transit bus passes for Cortland County residents and visitors by partnering with ATI, Catholic Charities and SUNY Cortland on this program,” said Melissa Potter, Cortland County Mobility Manager.

“Access to Independence is excited to sell bus passes. The bus can be a great tool for independence. We play a role in supporting individuals in self- advocating. We host Words Have Power advocacy group to work on this. Come to down between 8am-4pm Monday- Friday,” said Alex Mikowski, Executive Director of ATI. ATI is located at 26 N. Main Street, Cortland, NY 13045.

“Catholic Charities is pleased to partner with Cortland Transit, Cortland County, ATI and SUNY Cortland for the Monthly Bus Pass Partnership program. Our central location will hopefully make it easier for bus riders to obtain passes to get to school, work or other destinations,” said Tim Lockwood, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Cortland County. Catholic Charities is located at 33-35 Central Ave. Cortland, NY 13045. “SUNY Cortland and Cortland Auxiliary Services are excited that our Campus Store will be one of the new locations where Cortland Transit riders can purchase bus passes. We hope that easier access to these passes will encourage our students and employees to take advantage of the bus routes offered by Cortland Transit, “Said SUNY Cortland President Erik J. Bitterbaum. The campus bookstore is located at 15 Neubig Rd., Cortland, NY 13045.

Monthly Bus Pass Fares:

  • All Routes, excluding Route 7: $45.00
  • All Routes, including Route 7: $85.00
  • Reduced Fare Monthly Pass: $22.50

Reduced fare monthly pass does not include Route 7 and is available for persons with disabilities, senior citizens 60 and older and youth 18 and under. Bus passes follow the calendar month and cannot be prorated if purchased in the middle of the month. Customers can still purchase bus passes at the Cortland Transit location on 21 Squires Street, Cortland, NY 13045, as well as purchase bus tokens or pay exact cash when getting on the bus.
