Cortland Weather Outlook: Monday, February 7

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, February 7, 2022:

A small, weak low pressure system to our northwest will help bring in some new clouds as well as warmer temperatures.

Many of the clouds today will be thin clouds high in the atmosphere. There will be periods of time where they are thick enough to filter the sunshine but should not completely grey the sky out. Other periods may be more sunny than anything else.

No precipitation is expected from any of the cloud cover during the daytime or nighttime hours.

South winds will feed into the low pressure center with speeds near or slightly over 5 mph. Top gusts will stay under 20 mph.

Temperatures will quickly warm this morning and head into the mid and upper 30s this afternoon.

Skies will become mostly clear this evening, allowing temperatures to steadily fall through the 20s and into the 10s. However, the continuing south wind should keep it from getting much colder than about 15 degrees overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Tuesday: More clouds than sun. A few late flurries. Morning lows near 15. Afternoon highs around 30.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a late flurry or shower. Morning lows near 10. Afternoon highs near 40.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy. A few snow showers. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy. A few rain or snow showers. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
