Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, February 10, 2022:

Another weak cold front will move in today with little impact on the temperature.

Southwest winds will blow at around 10 mph this morning, gradually turning more westerly through the afternoon as the front moves through.

Skies will be rather cloudy throughout the day. A few rain and snow showers will be scattered about, possibly with a brief yet heavier burst along the front itself late in the afternoon.

From the late morning through the mid afternoon, the winds will be blustery with top gusts around 30 mph.

Temperatures will be steady during this time as well, reaching the upper 30s. That will be as high as the temperature goes today. A degree or two may be lost before sunset.

Even once darkness settles in, temperatures will take their time dropping, reaching the mid 20s by midnight and mostly staying there through the overnight.

This will be caused be a return to southerly winds during the nighttime hours as a stronger system makes its way into the Upper Great Lakes.

The nighttime hours will mostly be quiet. An early flurry cannot be ruled out, but most of the time it will be dry with partly cloudy skies.

Friday: Increasing clouds. Some late rain or rain/snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Morning rain showers turning to flurries. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Midday highs near 40, then falling through the 30s.

Sunday: A few lake effect snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 0s. Afternoon highs in the low 10s.

Monday: Some early clouds giving way to sunshine. Morning lows near -10. Afternoon highs in the upper 0s.
