A woman died in a car accident early Tuesday morning after she struck a tree in the town of Truxton, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.
The woman has been identified as Jennifer N. Fish, aged 35. According to the report, Fish was traveling west on Bells Mills Road in Truxton in her 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee when she “drove off the roadway and struck a tree.”
Fish suffered life-threatening injuries from the accident and died at the scene, the report states. The accident is still under investigation, according to the county sheriff’s office.
The Truxton Fire Department, Smith Ambulance, TLC Ambulance, Ron’s Towing and the Cortland County Coroner’s Office provided assistance at the scene of the accident.
The report notes that Bells Mills Road was “closed for a few hours” while the county sheriff’s office accident investigation team “processed the scene.”
