Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, March 5

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, March 5, 2022:

A warm front will move through the area today with little fanfare.

Skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day. Few, if any, breaks of sun are expected. The best chance for a glimpse of the sun will come late in the day.

Precipitation will also be hard to come by today, though. A spit of drizzle or a few morning snowflakes will be possible, but most areas will get through today without seeing any precipitation.

Winds will be from the southeast at under 5 mph this morning. Wind speeds will increase to around 5 mph this afternoon, then turn southerly and increase further tonight. 

Nighttime winds will see speeds around 10 mph with gusts between 25-30 mph.

Temperatures will stick to the 30s this morning but will rise to the low and mid 40s for the afternoon. Evening temperatures will fall back to the mid 30s. 

As winds increase after midnight, the temperature will start to come back up. By Sunday morning, mid 40s should be back in place.

The evening and overnight will remain cloudy but primarily dry. A few rain showers will be moving in by dawn Sunday.

Sunday: Windy and warm with occasional rain showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Monday: Cloudy with precipitation likely with a variety of precipitation types through the day. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Tuesday: Cloudy with snow showers, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows near 20. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
