Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, March 16, 2022:

A sunny and mild day will unfold across the area today.

Some lingering clouds and fog this morning will burn off quickly as the sun rises through the morning sky. The decreasing clouds will lead to mostly sunny skies this afternoon, though a few thin clouds will be possible here or there.

No precipitation is expected at any time today.

Winds will be light but from the south with speeds near or under 5 mph. Top gusts on the day will be around 15 mph.

Nonetheless, what little wind there is will team up with the sunshine to push temperatures upward.

Look for afternoon highs in the mid 50s. A few places could even sneak into the upper 50s, especially in the southern half of the county.

Despite clear skies, temperatures will not drop too far tonight. Much of the nighttime hours will be spent in the low 40s, but some occasional dips into the upper 30s will be possible.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Thursday: Sun and a few thin clouds. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Friday: More clouds than sun. A few late rain showers. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday: Rain likely, possibly with a little snow mixing in late over higher elevations. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Sunday: Early rain showers. Maybe some late sun. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
