Cortland Weather Outlook: Thursday, April 7

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, April 7, 2022:

A slow moving front will make for a rainy day from start to finish.

Rain moved in last night and will persist throughout the day. There will be some breaks between individual showers, but extended dry time is unlikely.

A few of the showers may have some briefly heavier rain. Rain totals by this evening could be in excess of an inch, which could cause some ponding and minor flooding in poor drainage areas.

The rain will taper off during the early evening with just a few stray showers lingering through the overnight hours.

Winds will start the day from the southeast at 5-10 mph. As the front moves into the area, the wind speed will drop to around 5 mph with variable directions. Those directions should mostly be between southeast, east, northeast, and north.

With clouds and precipitation locked in throughout the day and without any warming winds, temperatures will only rise a couple degrees today. Look for highs in the mid 40s.

Evening temperatures will remain in the mid 40s early but will gradually slip back to around 40 degrees overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:
