A quiet day is expected today as skies transition from cloudy this morning to sunny this afternoon.

The clouds this morning are associated with a complex of thunderstorms that will track across Pennsylvania this morning. These should stay plenty far enough south that rain is not expected in our area.

As this complex continues southeast away from the area, sunshine will increase during the first part of the afternoon. The latter afternoon should be mostly sunny with clear skies persisting into the evening and overnight hours.

Winds will be nearly calm today with just a whisper of a northerly breeze at times. Top wind gusts should be under 10 mph.

Temperatures will be a bit sluggish this morning with the clouds but should shoot into the mid 70s this afternoon once the sun appears.

Evening temperatures will drop through the 60s before settling in the mid 50s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Possibly some late thunder. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Sun, clouds, and afternoon showers and storms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Some sun. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
