An area of low pressure will pass through the region today with some rain showers.

The rain showers will be possible at almost anytime today, but the later afternoon hours will be the favored period of rain.

This will also be the most likely time for some embedded thunderstorms. Any thunderstorm cells could have some localized downpours. Outside of these, however, rain amounts will mostly be low.

Between showers, skies will remain rather cloudy. A few breaks of sun here or there will be possible, though, especially in the later morning and early afternoon hours.

High temperatures will reach around 80 degrees. If enough sun pokes out, low 80s will be possible. Dewpoints will rise from the upper 50s to the low 60s, making it a touch muggy feeling.

Winds will be from the southwest at up to 10 mph. Top gusts should get just over 20 mph.

Clouds and showers will continue into the evening hours. The clouds will remain overnight, but the showers will gradually diminish. Still, a stray shower or some drizzle may linger all the way into Wednesday morning.

Temperatures during the nighttime hours will mostly stick to the mid 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Morning clouds and a few stray showers. Increasing sun. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. A few nighttime showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
