Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, August 14, 2022:

High pressure will begin to dissipate over the region today, but it will still be another pleasant day.

Sunshine this morning will quickly mix with developing fair weather clouds. The clouds may block out a good deal of the sun during the afternoon, but it should not become completely cloudy and no rain will fall.

Winds will be light with speeds under 5 mph. the wind direction may be a bit variable at times but will generally have an easterly component to it. Top gusts will only be around 10 mph.

Temperatures will add on a few degrees compared to the last few days. Highs should reach the upper 70s with a few places hitting 80 degrees.

Tonight, the clouds will dissipate with the loss of the daytime heating, though a few mid and high level clouds may mix in with the moonlight at times.

Evening temperatures will not drop as quickly as the previous nights, reaching about 60 degrees by the late evening and dipping to the mid 50s overnight.

Monday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds with some showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Wednesday: Scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
