Low pressure will continue to meander east today, providing a variety of weather conditions throughout the day.

The best chance for sunny and dry weather will be during the morning hours. However, even then, a few stray showers may be thrown our way by Lake Erie.

As temperatures rise into the afternoon, showers will increase in coverage across the region. Still, the afternoon should not be a washout. The showers will be hit or miss, off and on.

The showers will diminish this evening, but a wind shift will eventually bring in some lake effect showers off of Lake Ontario after midnight tonight.

Daytime winds will be from the southwest at around 10 mph. Top gusts should clock in around 25 mph. Late in the afternoon, the wind will turn more westerly. Northwest winds will develop overnight.

The southwest winds will bring in cooler air that has wrapped all the way around the parent low pressure system. As a result, highs will be in the mid and upper 50s today.

Tonight, temperatures will drop to and past 50 degrees during the evening. Lows will end up in the middle 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers, especially early. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Sunny with some late clouds ahead of the remains of Hurricane Ian. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Perhaps a few showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
