Low pressure will depart today, but it will take most of the day for it to completely leave the area.

This morning will be marked by thick clouds and continued light snow showers. Little to no additional snow accumulation is expected.

The snow should taper off by or before midday, but the clouds will continue to linger deep into the afternoon. Eventually, though, the clouds will dissipate. A little sun may shine before it sets, with clear skies expected tonight.

Temperatures will be slow to warm today with highs in the low and mid 30s.

After sunset, with clear skies and the fresh snow, temperatures will drop in a hurry. Evening temperatures will freefall through the 20s and overnight lows should end up in the low 10s. Localized cold pockets may end up in the single digits.

Winds will be from the north-northwest with speeds just over 5 mph. These winds will be persistent throughout the daytime and nighttime hours.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 10s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Wednesday: Increasing and thickening clouds. Morning lows in the low 10s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Thursday: Cloudy with late snow or mixed precipitation possible. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Friday: Snow or mixed precipitation possible. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
