The weather will be mostly quiet today, though plenty of clouds will remain in place.

A few stray showers will be possible from time to time. For those areas that see rain, amounts should be low and the length of time of the rain should be brief.

The best chance for some breaks of sunshine will come during the latter half of the afternoon. Partly cloudy skies will persist for a few hours in the evening before new clouds build in.

During the pre-dawn hours overnight, some snow showers will work in, but these should not have much if any impact on the morning commute Friday.

Winds will primarily be from the southwest today with speeds around 5 mph. Top gusts will remain under 20 mph.

Temperatures will work their way into the mid and upper 40s today. As usual, the hills in the north will be coolest, while the southern reaches of the county will be warmest.

Evening temperatures will drop back into the mid 30s with overnight lows in the low 30s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Mostly cloudy with rain and snow showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. A few flurries, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, but dry. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Monday: Cloudy with rain and/or snow showers possible. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
