Six Homer football players receive all-state selections

Six Homer varsity football players received Class B all-state selections from the New York State Sportswriters Association.

Senior Sam Sorenson (linebacker) received a nod for first-team defense. Junior Laramy Velasquez-Ramirez (punter/kicker) is a second-team offense member, while junior Wyatt Wilbur (defensive lineman) is part of second-team defense.

Other selections for the Trojans include senior Tyler Riehlman (offensive lineman) for third-team offense and senior Logan Darling (defensive lineman) for fourth-team defense.

Senior Bryce Hoffmann received honorable mention as a linebacker.

Homer finished its 2022 season with a 9-2 record. The squad captured its second-straight Section III Class B title and reached the New York State regional round.
