Homer senior Logan Darling competed in the weight throw event of the Indoor Track & Field State Championships on Saturday March 4th.

The state championship meet was held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, where at least two competitors represented each Section in the state.

According to Homer coach George Schneider, Darling entered the state championship meet seeded 19th out of 31 qualifiers.

Darling ended up placing 14th overall in the state’s weight throw event with a result of 55’4.25”.

“Just making it to the state championships was a huge accomplishment,” said coach Schneider. “Logan had an outstanding senior year. He broke the school record, was the league champion and sectional champion in the weight throw. Competing in the state championship was just another highlight to add to his list. Logan’s character showed through all season. It allowed him to accomplish a great deal. It also made him a great representative of the Homer indoor track & field team all season.”
