There will be several chances for precipitation today as warmer air pushes its way back into the region.

The first batch of precipitation will be early this morning. Rain, snow, and ice will mix, but should be light enough to keep any travel issues to a minimum.

This precipitation should depart during the mid to late morning hours, followed by a lull for several hours.

During this lull, temperatures will rise into the mid 40s. A little sun may even poke out between the clouds.

By the early to mid afternoon, rain will move back in. This rain will be widespread and steady for a few hours, followed by another break in the late afternoon and evening hours.

Temperatures will retreat to the low 40s during the rain, but will rise back into the mid 40s during the late afternoon and evening.

A third area of rain will move in after midnight. This rain may have some embedded downpours and a few rumbles of thunder and should continue into early Saturday morning.

Temperatures will rise with this third area of rain and may be pushing 50 degrees by sunrise.

South winds will blow throughout the day and nighttime with speeds of 10-15 mph. Gusts will generally be 25-30 mph, but some stronger gusts will be possible over the hilltops in the northern part of the county during the nighttime hours.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Windy with early morning showers and an afternoon line of showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows near 50.  Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Sunday: A morning flurry. Then, sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s.  Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower, especially late. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
