High pressure will begin to build into the region today for an extended stay.

Clouds left behind from our recent weather system will hang tough, but the high will work hard to dislodge them.

The clouds will therefore be most plentiful during the morning and midday hours, but sunshine should gradually increase. Skies may not completely clear out until this evening, though.

A stray morning flurry is not out of the question, but for the most part, no precipitation is expected.

Northwest winds will become blustery this morning and persist through the afternoon. Wind speeds will be around 15 mph with gusts of 30-35 mph.

Cooler air will move in on the northwest winds with highs slightly below average in the mid 40s.

The winds will lessen this evening. Combined with clear skies, temperatures will quickly drop after sunset, reaching the upper 20s this evening and mid 20s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sunny with a few thin clouds. Not as windy. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: Full sunshine throughout the day. Calm winds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 50s.

Monday: Sun and a few clouds. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs around 60.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
