The Marathon Olympians lost a tough game against Southern Cayuga with a score of 1-11 Monday evening.

Marathon was led by Blake Birdsall (2 hits & 1 RBI), Zachary Birdsall (1 hit & 1 run), and Braydin Drake (2 strikeouts thrown).

Southern Cayuga was mainly led by Braeden Dingy (2 hits, 1 Homerun & 2 RBI’s), Isaac Brozon (2 hits & 1 RBI), and Isaac Brozon (7 strikeouts thrown).

“Our fielding hurt us a bit today,” said Marathon head coach Bryan Hoyt. “We gave them extra outs and they took advantage of them. We have had 5 games and only 2 practices in the past week with Easter break, so the practice field will be a blessing tomorrow. There are some things we need to work on. Get ourselves some reps in the field and at the plate. Brozon and Cullen pitched well for them. Credit goes to them, but we need to get some work in tomorrow.”

With this loss, Marathon now holds a 1-4 record.

Marathon’s next game will be played at home this Wednesday (April 13th) at 4:30pm.
