The game was supposed to take place at Marathon High School, but according to Marathon head coach Bryan Hoyt, it was moved to the Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex due to poor field conditions at the high school.

McGraw was led by Riley VanLiew (2 runs & 2 hits), Thomas Lea (1 hit & 2 RBI’s), Blair Mulcahy (1 run), Calob Sutton (1 run & 1 hit), Nathan Stiles (1 hit, 1 RBI & 4 strikeouts thrown), Blake Bergey (1 hit), and Jaydon Bassett (2 runs, 2 hits & 1 RBI).

“It wasn’t the game that I planned on,” said McGraw head coach Corey Wilson. “I wanted to win, obviously. Offensively we squared up for some big hits tonight. However, defensively it was a tight game.”

Nate (Stiles) was able to get the start today (at pitcher),” added coach Wilson. He hasn’t pitched a whole lot, but he pitched six good innings. He settled in, and we need him to do that. Blair (Mulcahy) then finished the game off. Defensively we made some good plays, but it could have definitely gone the other way.”

Up next, McGraw is scheduled to play Otselic Valley on the road on Tuesday (April 18th) at 4:30pm; while Marathon hosts Moravia at Marathon High School on Friday (April 21st) at 4:30pm.
