The ongoing construction projects in the city of Cortland prompted updates for Thursday.

Construction on Main Street is the city’s continuation of its Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) projects. Cortland started working on projects last year.

A breakdown of previous updates can be seen here.

For Thursday and moving forward, construction crews will conduct preliminary testing for the newly-installed water mains at Court, West Court and Main Streets.

According to Crown City Rising, those who use water in these vicinities may find some turbidity (or cloudiness) in their water supplies. Despite this, the water is safe and constantly being monitored.

Construction work is ongoing to repair private vaults along the west side of Main Street. This project will include parking restrictions along West Main Street near the intersection of West Court Street.

Crews will also be installing a new maintenance access point near the intersection of Main Street, Groton Avenue and Clinton Avenue. The work, which is expected to take two days, will limit traffic to one lane in the area.

Updates mentioned that the new maintenance access point is in preparation for the repair of sewer mains along Main Street. Crews will also begin installing new water and sewer mains along the west side of Main Street.
