A village in Cortland County adopted its budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
At the Village of Marathon Board of Trustees meeting on Wednesday, the board adopted a budget with estimated revenue of $1,169,614.67.
The breakdown of the village’s new budget is as follows:
- $591,550 for the general fund
- $214,895.38 for the water fund
- $363,169.29 for the sewer fund
During Wednesday’s budget hearing, it was noted the general fund budget will include a 1.24% tax levy increase, which comes out to $370,550 in project taxes to be collected.
Also noted at the budget hearing was the rates for the sewer fund went up 29%.
