A cool, slightly unsettled air mass will continue to be overhead today with the weather following a similar pattern to yesterday.

Early on, though the first half of the morning, there will be some sunshine mixing with early, diminishing clouds. These will be replaced with newly developing fair weather clouds during the later morning hours.

By the afternoon, some of these clouds will grow enough to support some scattered showers. The rain will be hit or miss, and most showers will be brief and light. Some areas may be able to dodge all the showers and get through the day dry.

As the sun sets, the showers will begin to dissipate. Any that linger into the evening and overnight hours will turn to some flurries with no accumulation expected.

Winds will be fairly light with speeds near or slightly above 5 mph. The wind direction may be a bit westerly at first this morning but will be from the northwest most of the day.

Afternoon highs will range from the upper 40s in higher elevations, to low 50s in the city of Cortland and the southern reaches of the county.

This evening, temperatures will be quick to fall through the 40s and into the 30s. Morning lows will be near or just over 30 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs around 50.

Wednesday: Another day of clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a couple more afternoon showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Sun and clouds most of the day, becoming overcast late. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
