The stubborn low pressure that has dominated our weather this week is almost completely out of the picture at last.

After some early morning sunshine, fair weather clouds will bubble up during the later morning. These will persist into the afternoon before dissipating around sunset.

There may be just enough moisture and energy left behind by the low to trigger one or two isolated, small showers this afternoon. Most, if not all of the area should stay dry, though.

North and northwest winds will blow gently with speeds around 5 mph. Top gusts should be 15 mph or less.

Temperatures will continue to slowly increase. Today’s highs should reach the mid 50s, which is still several degrees below average for early May.

Skies will become clear tonight and winds will be nearly calm. Temperatures will drop to around 40 this evening and then down into the mid 30s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Monday: Sunny with a few thin clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds with a few showers, especially in the afternoon. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
