The 2023 spring sports regular season recently ended, and many Cortland County teams made it into their respective sectional tournaments.
Here are the upcoming sectional tournament matchups for each Cortland County team that qualified for sectionals:
Softball
Cortland
The Cortland varsity softball team will be the No.15-seed in the Section III Class B Sectional Tournament. They ended the regular season with a 10-9 record.
The Lady Tigers will host the No.18-seeded Homer Lady Trojans in the opening round of the tournament tonight, Monday (May 22nd) at the Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex. The game is scheduled to begin at 5pm.

Homer
The Homer varsity softball team is the No.18-seed in the Section III Class B Sectional Tournament.
The Homer Lady Trojans ended the regular season with an overall record of 6-11.
Homer will play in the opening round of the tournament against the No.15-seeded Cortland Lady Purple Tigers at the Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex tonight (May 22nd) at 5pm.

Cincinnatus
The Cincinnatus Lady Lions are the No.6-seed in the Section III Class D Sectional Tournament after ending the regular season with an overall record of 10-8.
Cincinnatus is scheduled to host No.11-seed Madison in the first round of the tournament at Cincinnatus high school this Tuesday (May 23rd) at 5pm.

Marathon
The 8th-seeded Marathon Lady Olympians defeated No.9-seeded Richfield Springs in the first round of the Section IV Class D Sectional Tournament on Thursday (May 18th) with a score of 5-3.
The Lady Olympians are now scheduled to play on the road against the No.1-seed Deposit-Hancock at Deposit Central High School this Tuesday (May 23rd) at 4:30pm.

Baseball
Cortland
The Cortland Purple Tigers entered the Section III Class B playoffs as the No.4 seed after finishing their regular season with an overall record of 13-6.
Cortland obtained an opening round bye, and will play their first sectional game of the season at the Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex this Tuesday (May 23rd) at 5pm.
Cortland will host the winner of the game between Bishop Grimes (No.13-seed) and Holland Patent (No.20-seed), which will be played at Bishop Grimes high school today (May 22nd) at 4:30pm.

Homer
The Homer Trojans are the No.8-seed in the upcoming Section III Class B Sectional Tournament. Homer ended the regular season with a 10-7 overall record.
The Trojans will host their first sectional game against No.9-seed Skaneateles at the Gutchess Lumber Sports Complex on Tuesday (May 23rd) at 5pm.

McGraw
The McGraw Eagles will be the No. 9 seed in the Section III Class D Sectional Tournament after ending their regular season with an overall record of 9-9.
McGraw is scheduled to play in the first round of the playoff tournament on the road against No.8-seed Brookfield on Tuesday (May 23rd) at Brookfield high school. The game will begin at 4:30pm.

Girls Lacrosse
Cortland
The Cortland varsity girls lacrosse team got the No.8 seed in the Section III Class C playoff tournament.
Cortland ended their regular season with an overall record of 5-9.
Cortland will play the first round of the sectional tournament against No.1 seed Indian River. The game will be played at Indian River high school this Tuesday (May 23rd) at 6pm.
Boys Lacrosse

The Cortland Purple Tigers are the No.10-seed in the Section III Class C playoff tournament after ending the regular season with a 6-10 overall record.
Cortland will play in the opening round of the tournament on Tuesday (May 23rd) on the road against No.7-seed Indian River. The game will be played at Indian River high school at 7pm.

Homer
The Homer Trojans were seeded at No.4 in the upcoming Section III Class C playoff tournament. Homer ended their regular season with an overall record of 6-10.
Homer will play their first sectional game against No.5 seed Cazenovia/Chittenango/Morrisville-Eaton.
The game is scheduled to be played at Homer high school on Wednesday (May 24th) at 7pm.

Girls Golf
Marathon
The Marathon Lady Olympians will be represented by Savanna Warfield, Abby Ensign, Audrey Ensign, Anna Hoyt, and Elizabeth VanCise in the Section IV Sectional Tournament.
The Section IV girls golf tournament will take place at the Soaring Eagles Golf Course in Horseheads on Thursday (May 25th) at 9am.
Boys Golf
Marathon
The Marathon varsity boys golf team were scheduled to compete in the Section IV team tournament at SUNY Delhi’s College Golf Course today (May 22nd) at 9am.
The Cortland Voice will report on the scores when they become available.
McGraw & Cincinnatus
According to the Section III website, the boys golf sectional tournament will be held on Wednesday (May 24th) and Friday (May 26th) at the Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, NY.
Coaches are scheduled to meet in order to get their assignments on Wednesday (May 24th) at 8am.
Track & Field
Cortland
The Cortland Purple Tigers are scheduled to compete in the Section III Class B Championships at Camden high school this Thursday (May 25th).
The sectional championship meet is set to start at 4pm on Thursday.
Homer
The Homer Trojans will compete in the Section III Class B Championships at Camden high school this Thursday (May 25th).
The sectional championship meet is scheduled to begin at 4pm on Thursday.
Cincinnatus
The Cincinnatus Lions will compete in the Section III Class D Championships on Friday (May 26th).
According to the Section III website, the sectional championship meet is scheduled to begin at 3pm on Friday at West Canada Valley High School.
Marathon
The Marathon Olympians are set to compete in the Section IV Class D Championships today (May 22nd) and Tuesday (May 23rd).
According to Marathon’s athletics website, the sectional championship meet will take place at Marathon’s Appleby Elementary School.
Today’s events will start at 4:45pm; while Tuesday’s events will start at 2pm.
