The No.8 seeded Homer Trojans’ season came to an end after falling to No.9 seeded Skaneateles in the first round of the Section III Class B playoff tournament.

Homer lost the game with a close score of 3-5.

Things started off well for the Trojans, with them getting up to a 3-0 lead by the end of the first inning.

Skaneateles’ defense held Homer scoreless for the rest of the game, while slowly picking up their own runs.

Homer had a total of seven errors recorded throughout the game, while Skaneatles only recorded one error.

“We had bad breaks,” said Homer head coach Robert Nasiatka. “Maddox (Johnson) pitched his heart out, and we just didn’t field behind him. We had problems fielding, and that was issue for us all year.”

“Skaneateles is a good team,” added coach Nasiatka. “It’s well coached. Tommy (Warner) does a great job. In the long run, it’s a team game. You win as a team and you lose as a team. We just didn’t perform how we should have today.”

When asked about his seniors and how he looks forward to next year’s season, coach Nasiatka said, “A couple of these seniors never started before (this season), and they played every inning of every game. It was amazing. They did a great job, and I was very impressed with them. We had a lot of great experiences. I love these boys. Win or lose, we are always family.”
