High pressure will be off the coast of New England today while a broad area of lower pressures will exist across the Midwest and Ohio Valley.

This pattern will set up a light southeast wind today with speeds around or under 5 mph.

Though the winds will be light, the direction will have an effect on temperatures, knocking them back a couple of degrees.

Highs this afternoon should top out around 80 degrees.

Skies will be sunny throughout the day, with just a small chance for a few stray clouds during the afternoon hours.

It will remain clear this evening and overnight, though some wild fire smoke may drift in from the east after midnight due to fires over Nova Scotia.

Nighttime temperatures will drop through the 60s during the evening and through the 50s overnight to a low in the upper 40s.
