Low pressure will continue to slowly track eastward today and will pass north of our area.

This should lead to another day of showers and small thunderstorms, mostly during the afternoon hours.

Morning clouds will burn off, leaving mixed skies for the later morning and early afternoon.

By the mid afternoon, scattered showers will begin to pop up. These will be similar to the showers and storms from over the weekend: small cells and clusters that are slow to move. Locally heavy downpours will be possible, along with some occasional lightning.

Severe weather is not expected, but localized flooding could be a concern with the heavier downpours.

As the sun sets, the activity will taper off, and only a few sporadic showers are expected during the nighttime hours.

High temperatures today will reach the upper 70s and dewpoints will be in the upper 60s. Winds will be from the south and southeast at 5-10 mph.

Tonight, temperatures will drop to the low and mid 60s during the evening, and to the upper 50s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Scattered showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs around 70.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
