Municipalities within Cortland County have announced changes to its trash pickup schedule this week due to the Independence Day holiday.
Garbage and recycling pickup in the city of Cortland is as follows:
- Tuesday’s pickup is Wednesday
- Wednesday’s pickup is Thursday
- Thursday’s pickup is Friday
For the village of Homer, Wednesday’s pickups are Thursday, while Thursday’s pickups are Friday.
Representatives from the towns of Cortlandville and Homer, and the village of McGraw noted that since each of these areas do not have a designated trash company under contract, it depends on what residents have chosen for their weekly pickup.
Other municipalities within the county could not be reached for comment.
