It will be another hot and humid day today ahead of a cold front expected tomorrow.

Clear skies early this morning will transition to a mix of sun and fair-weather clouds by the late morning. These clouds will persist into the afternoon.

A few of the clouds may grow large enough to support a few spits of rain. However, these should be few and far between, and most, if not all, of the area will ultimately remain dry through the late afternoon.

A light south wind will blow at around 5 mph, helping nudge temperatures upward slightly. Most of the county should reach the upper 80s this afternoon, but a few places cloud hit 90 degrees.

Dewpoints will be in the mid and upper 60s, which will yield a heat index value a degree or two above the actual temperature.

Skies will remain partly cloudy this evening and overnight, and a slightly better chance for a shower or thunderstorm will develop.

It will remain muggy and warm with temperatures only slowly falling through the 70s to an overnight low in the upper 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Sun and clouds. Showers and maybe a thunderstorm through the morning and especially during the midday or early afternoon hours. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: A few showers and thunderstorms possible late. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Sunday: Rain and thunderstorms likely, especially in the morning. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
