County: Man appears in business with illegal weapon

A man was arrested last Wednesday after an incident of disorderly conduct, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report stated that Casey A. Brown, 36, of Homer, confirmed as the “disorderly subject,” was inside the Pit Stop gas station on Route 11 in the town of Cortlandville. Brown, however, was “taken into custody without incident,” the report noted.

The report continued that Brown was in possession of an undisclosed illegal weapon. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a felony), and an appearance in public under the influence of a narcotic (a violation).

Brown was processed, arraigned, released and now due to appear in Cortlandville town court at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The county sheriff’s office did not provide further details beyond the report.
