Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, July 12, 2023:

A frontal boundary will enter the region today, knocking temperatures back a few degrees and triggering some afternoon precipitation.

Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. A stray shower very early this morning cannot be ruled out. Otherwise, it should stay dry until after 3 PM.

After that time, scattered clusters of showers and thunderstorms will develop and move across the area. Some places may still get missed by the rain, though.

For those that do see a thunderstorm, there may be some gusty winds associated with the storm.

Scattered showers will continue to into the evening and overnight hours. Heavy rain is not expected overnight.

Temperatures will peak in the low 80s this afternoon. Evening temperatures will fall back to 70 degrees with overnight lows in the low to mid 60s.

Non-thunderstorm winds will be light from the west and northwest at around 5 mph.

Thursday: Sun and clouds with showers and storms possible, especially late. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Clouds, some sun, and a few lingering showers. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Clouds and sun with showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Sunday: Clouds and sun with showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
