A woman was arrested earlier this week after she stole merchandise from a local store, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.
The report stated that Kassey E. Roe, 30, of Cortlandville, stole merchandise from the CountryMax store on Route 13 and left in a vehicle.
According to the report, Roe “became physical” with a CountryMax employee as she was exiting the store. When county sheriff’s officers located Roe, she was driving under the influence of drugs and in possession of a controlled substance, the report continued.
Roe was arrested on Tuesday and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs (a Class-E felony), petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (Class-A misdemeanors), and failure to yield the right of way when entering a highway and failure to use a turn signal (traffic infractions).
Roe was released and is now due to appear in Cortlandville town court on July 24.
