The City of Cortland will begin an installation project on a local street next week.

Starting Monday (July 17), the City of Cortland Water Department will begin installing a new six-inch water main on Arthur Avenue

According to an update provided by Crown City Rising, the work to install the water main will take about 10 weeks to complete.

City crews will notify residents before planned water service interruptions. However, emergency interruptions may occur, and homes in the area could lose water without notification.

The city’s water department plans to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible. The city is encouraging those who don’t live on Arthur Avenue to avoid the street to minimize traffic impacts.
