A warm, muggy, and generally dry day is ahead, but rain chances will increase overnight.

Most of today will be a classical summer day. Skies will be a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures and humidity will be on the rise.

By this afternoon, highs should be topping out in the mid 80s. Dewpoints will be well into the 60s, making it feel muggy and a couple of degrees hotter than it actually is.

There is a very small chance for a stray shower or storm during the late afternoon. Most, if not all, of the county should ultimately be dry through sunset.

Clouds will increase this evening, and widespread rain with embedded thunder should arrive around midnight. The rain will continue through the overnight and into Sunday morning.

Locally heavy downpours could result in some areas of minor flooding.

It will remain warm and humid tonight. Evening temperatures will not escape the 70s, and overnight lows will only reach the mid and upper 60s.

Winds during the day will be from the southwest at around 5 mph. After briefly going calm in the early evening, nighttime winds will pick up again from the southeast at 5-10 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Morning rain likely, possibly lingering into the afternoon. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Monday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. A period of showers and storms possible. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.
